Hello
I have that sinking feeling every morning on my R reg citroen xantia 1.9td hatch back. I replaced the rear side spheres last year so thought i better change the centre one now its sinking.
However i was wondering if i have Hydractive suspension? what is this? All i have to control the height is a lever next to the gear stick for low, normal, med high, high.
I only want to know just in case they ask me when i order the centre sphere
Cheers
Taffy

I am assuming by your description that you dont have the "Sport" button near the gearstick just infront of the manual height control level. If you dont have this button then you dont have Hydractive suspension but to find out what it does have a look Here

Depends on your spec, LX/SX non hydractive, VSX/Exclusive Hydractive.
Another way to check is pop the bonnet and check the width of the pipes to the front spheres.
If they're 6mm wide then you've got hydractive, if they're much smaller then it's non hydractive.
So sphere-wise:
LX/SX (6 spheres)
Corner spheres x 4
Accumulator (front middle sphere)
Anti-sink (rear accumulator - middle sphere)
VSX/Exclusive (8 spheres)
Corner spheres x 4
Accumulator
Anti-sink
Hydractive centre spheres x 2
Activa (10 spheres)
Same as VSX
Activa balancing spheres x 2
If it's the antisink (rear accumulator) sphere you need to change, which is normally best done at the same time as your accumulator (which you check by listening for the tick rate while the engine idles - over 30s between ticks is good, less means change the accumulators), then you'll need a 9mm flare spanner and a 4.5mm pipe seal.

GSF is one of the best places for new spheres, they're about £25 each inc vat
