Hi all,
Have a friend who has purchased my old Xantia. Was sad to see the old girl depart, now I'm totally gutted to learn that it was basically purchased for the sole purpose of driving it around on 'Service Low' so the vehicle is constantly "Slammed".  Other than being pure torture for me to witness, he assures me that its not harming the car at all! :!: I beg to differ!

What problems will he be facing? Other than arguements with the local law etc.
Regan.

He's riding on the bumpstops, they won't last long.
Only suspension is the bounce in the tyres, stressing them, the strut tops.
Risk of grounding and damaging sills/exhaust/fuel lines/electrics.
Risk of harm from angry mob of Xantia owners armed with sphere removal tools :grr:

Wrath of R?aumoko directed more appropriately at him.

I'm guessing the bonnet wont last too long before being impailed by strut tops?

Very likely to bend the rear radius arms and everything associated with the suspension at both ends will be overstressed and fatigued. Something or things are gonna break !
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

Well id like to see him brake!

Also, its very illegal, just report him!

A car with no suspension travel is not road worthy. Brakes are very limited when in low, i dont see how he even manages to drive it.

It will be doing damage to the car, ill not be surprised if the struts make an appearance through the bonnet.

as others have said you are technicaly driveing a car with not suspension at all,

the only time i have done this is when my old BX had a main feed pipe go just after landing at Dover, after going to frogland for a day trip,

first the steering became heavy then the suspension went and finaly the brakes went,

i only drove her about 50 miles but gently'ish, i did pull over to let every car go past,

and about 200yards from home the rear box partted company  ,

I'll have to trawl for one with her in a bikini.
As she is 53 that may not be quite what you were hoping for.

Eleftheria Arvanitaki, if you are interested.
