xm car radio

hello all,i have a aussie spec xm fitted with a eurovox radio
model 7479,does anyone know if there is any part that is supposed
to be illumanated on the facia other than the square on the left showing
the station you are tuned to
also it has two holes either side of facia,do i insert metal rods or
are they screwed in,just in case i have to remove it,thanks in advance

Don't know that radio but I can confirm that the holes in the front are for removing the radio, if you bend a piece of wire coat hanger into a 'U' shape and push the ends in about 3" it should release the catches and you can then pull the radio out.
