HDI Pulley removal?

Unread post by howiedean »

Hi,
My crank pulley is knackered and I've managed to remove the bolt however I can't remove the pulley. Do I need a pulley removal tool or is there another solution to my problem?

Regards,

Howie

Citroen crankshaft pulleys usually have two tapped holes in them which can be used with a simple puller to extract the pulley without damage. I had to do this on my XM 2.1TD - some of the excess thread locking compound for the bolt had got onto the pulley bore.

Did mine a few months ago and it just pulled off by hand. Try tapping it at the edge with a soft faced hammer, tap lightly at 12, 3, 6 and 9 O'clock alternately until it loosens.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

HDi pullys seem to be slightly slacker on the shaft then the older XUD pully that were a tight fit....

Ive never had a problem with the pully comming from the crank on HDi so far..
