Hi I'm about to change the bottom balljoint on my wifes 05 307sw , the BOL says to unbolt the sensor from the hub , is this correct . I'm concerned I bugger up the abs . regards John.

well thats it done and the sensor came off and went back on without a problem. I will say if you're changing the ball joint and you have a rattle gun get the deep socket, you might be able to do it without taking the hub off. If you take the hub off just hold the flats of the balljoint in a vise and use stilsons to turn the hub ( you might need to use a length of pipe on the stilsons) This came off a lot easier than the last one I changed on a xantia.

You can do the bottom ball joint in situ but you need a huge (deep!) socket.

I had a lot of trouble getting one, although (cannot remember what size and my toolbox is not to hand) the size is easy enough getting one thats about 3 inches deep to clear the thread was not. :)

Hi Andy , its a 41mm , I found the hardest part of the job was getting the bottom arm back on .
