Returned on Thursday from trip to UK. Total round trip = 1630miles.
The coincidence was that when we left home here I reckoned the mileometer would be around 60000 miles when we got to my Mum's house in March (Cambs.).
Without cheating in any way it was a shock to see the miles click up to 60000 exactly as we drove into her parking space. So plus or minus a couple of yards!!
Reminded me of my an incident in my first car when I ran out of fuel while approaching a garage and just having enough momentum to make it to a pump.
Any similar coincidences?

Many years ago I mini-cabbed an old 2.1 peugot engined diesel granada.
It gradually started losing power until it got to the stage where it would only do about 30mph flat out.Nobody could diagnose the problem and I was getting very worried as I depended on the car for my living.I opened the bonnet for the umpteenth time for a good look and lo and behold there was a split in the outer casing of the throttle cable which meant the throttle was only opening a fraction.Eureka.
Drove(slowly)to the nearest parts stockist and started off home with the new cable on board.About two miles from home the cable snapped and the pedal fell to the floor.luckily the journey was all downhill but I had to negotiate 4 roundabouts and several pedestrian crossings.Just made it, the car rolling to a halt right outside my house.
