Erratic tickover.

Hi all,I have an issue with tick over on my 1.9 td sx it is like someone is revving it then taking their foot of.It ranges from 800 then up to 1100,up down, up down.However if you say revved to 3000 when you took your foot off it would cut out.Any suggestions would be very welcome.Thank you.

Sounds like air ingress in the fuel system, has the filter been changed lately? If not that would be the first port of call, otherwise check all the connections and if it has a Bosch pump, particularly the injector leak off pipes.
