part number for front suspension pipe

My car a 52 plate C5 estate has failed its MOT for amongst other small things, a broken rubber suspension hose on the NS front wheel.

I dont know if its the supply or return pipe, (I think its the return one) here is a picture of the offending item

Can anyone give me the name of this and the part number? I presume it just slips over the metal pipes.

It's the strut leak off hose - you can probably just pull the bit off the pipe and stuff the end back on to get it MOT'd provided there's enough slack. Otherwise:

The second part is the clamp. These are the same parts as fitted to later Xantias, so it should be available from GSF cheaper than this.

Got the pipe and clip from Citroen

fitted pipe but couldn't get the clip on properly so refitted old clip which I also couldn't tighten up, I then got a suitably large jubilee clip and put it round the original clip and tightened it. Is there a special method to tighten this clip.

Is there any reason why this should not be OK?

A Garage looked at it and said they'd do the same. What I'll do is clean the area with gunk, top up the reservoir and see that everythings ok.

Ensure you use LDS to top up the reservoir, and not LHM!

I use some modified pincers, Boker brand (nothing fancy, just older eastern European stuff). They have the forward edges ground flush and the back edge bevel thinned out. This enables you to grip the back side of the clip and the root of its "hook" simultaneously and squeeze them together.

Once the clip is lightly attached over the hook, a final tap with small hammer sits it home. C'est facile.

Domino,I've got the correct fluid from Citroen.

Addo, I havn't got such pincers hence the jubilee clip.

What I wanted to know is such an arrangement likely to fail?

the reason i would not use a jubbily clip is you could over tighten it,

which will cause the block at the bottom of the strut pipe the curl out wards at top and bottom,

if you dont have pinchers which would be my first choice, then use large side cutters to pull the clip into its second and fully home postion,
