Reporting in as promised.

Got the car back home last night with no obvious problems. Wife has it to take to work today.

It is absolutely immaculate inside, gearbox still a little stiff, and brakes, well, only Citroen make brakes like that!

The car has done 10,000 in 7 years, so obviously has stood around a lot. Apart from a couple of blemishes on the paint work, looks just fine, but I'll have a better look tomorrow in full daylight. Can't calculate MPG just yet, but we'll fill her up tomorrow and test it.

It's only an LX, so there's a few goodies missing. I'm not too fussed about maintaining the LX spec for the sake of it. We have a good scrappie a dozen miles away so tomorrow I go after a set of front fogs. Very necessary with the fogs which roll in off the North Sea.

I'll check in daylight if there's a power source for electric leather.

Although the spheres were replaced less than 1000 miles ago, they're fairly hard, so they'll be replaced. Later, I'll go in for electric windows in the rear doors.

Guess I'll either be searching the technical posts, or posting up for help.

Anybody know anything about this DAB radio stuff. I read AM/FM is being replaced soon and we've all got to buy new radios. Is that right?

Pictures, yes, I'll start with a few from the listing - weather down here is foul and daylight is only a memory at the moment.

Yes, what about a blog thread. I'll figure it out and start.

You'll need a correct SX or VSX front bumper with the cut outs designed
in for the front fogs mind as LX is designed to be solid! Not the most
common colour either...

Andrew, this one has got the pressings in place for fogs. Is that the same thing?

Does it not have any then Martin?

Hopefully the wiring is in place. If you want the relevant circuit diagrams, give me a shout...

You may find it has no looms for the electric leathers though. I fitted them to an SX 1.9TD a few years back and had to add them.

If this is the car you've purchased:

Image

• the wheels are 14" so you could fit 15" from the scrappy
• the front bumper IS solid although there is a foglight impression designed in
• I'd be surprised if the electeics are wired in for leckky seat TBH

Mind, I'm cool about being proven incorrect on the seats wiring!

Is that a real K plater or a private plate?

Looks a teat but a tad high at the front. That may well account for why it seems to be riding a bit firmly Martin

I made that error Jim - it's a genuine P plater (1996).

Ah! Where do I begin?

Yes that's the one. She is high at the front and when tested before purchase, back and front felt hard. Not a great surprise.

Tomorrow when we may, hopefully, have some decent daylight, I look at the front bumper.

In all other respects this is a really clean, tidy car. Frankly a bargain - I got it a hundred pounds less than the ebay sale price.

Just a thought.

I bought BX two years ago which had new spheres at the front - saw the dated bill for re-gassing.

Are they the same pressure as an Xantia, please?

I'm not a skin flint as such, but money is a little tight as I think it is with most people. Nearest garage that can re-gas spheres charges £25 a sphere so if these are appropriate, I can spend that on lights.
