206cc Possible viewing - What to check??

Post by citroenxm »

Hi All,

I may be possibly going to look at a 206 cc for my Mother In Law. Is there anything CC special I need to look for? I know the engines are the useual Pug 1600 or 2000 cc petrol lumps. Air Con checks... etc etc. What are the roofs like???

Thanks in advance
Paul

I dont think there is anyone on here with one, or they have not made themselves known if so.

Ive not heard of problems with the CCs, they are very popular so maybe a quick check around on a few owners reviews sites (parkers etc) might point out something common.

206s are usually good cars, just look for the 206 specific things and make sure the roof works, and check for leaks.

one you are probably aware of Paul is iol on the O/S front faceing corner of the block below head joint level on TU lumps, is 99% head gasket gone , but for a man of you caliba an easy peasy fix,

also the rear axle/arms / \ ,

i have seen one were the roof mechanisum had gone out of sink,

the people concernd had it back to fix time after time, and as far as i know never sorted it out, even the local pug deales had a couple of goes,

the problem was it would completly lock/jam up in various positions,

Check for leaks around roof. Check its operation obviously too.

When you open a door the glass should drop a fraction, that's normal, ensure that works.

Note: They do not have a spare wheel as its usual home is taken up with bracing. They come with a can or two of a tyreweld type aerosol.
