Hi all, it's been a huge job single handedly scrabbling around in the dirt stripping my 3.0l 24V V6 (R plate UK), but I have finally managed to liberate the engine/gearbox from the car (all going towards my Activa V6 project).
There is still the steering rack and associated bits, plus the rest of the suspension components to remove (what a job I've created for myself), but I am determined to finish and then start the conversion of my Activa.....well once I have found a V6 manual box that is.
So the gearbox and associated computers (which are in good working order), are now looking for a new home. Ideally I am looking for enough to buy the manual peugot V6 gearbox for my project, but I would also do a straight swap for a good one if that was offered.
On a slightly different note, if anyone is looking for body panels in dark green (ie tailgate, bonnet, wings, doors) now is the time to speak up, as the shell will be scrapped as soon as I have removed all the parts I need and want in a couple of weeks from now (depending on the weather).
Let me know if you are interested/want photos etc. Due to financial constraints I am unable to ship these items (bank account is in a poor state, sorry), so it would be better if interested parties collected the parts personally or arranged collection. Due to this situation I am quite prepared to give a very good deal on these items, as they are going to be scrapped otherwise.

Hi Jim and Andy,
yes it's a an S1 so no headlight washers unfortunately.
Andy I have PM'd you but don't know how to upload the pictures of the bodywork, so I'll try here. After having a good look today and taking pics, I notice that there are various scratches and chips all over, plus a dent in the rear wheel arch (this car was not looked after by the previous owner, in his defence he suffered damage on all his cars in Middlesborough, and it was one of the reasons he left the country).
Jim, re the gearbox it was you who told me in the first place that the auto boxes are akin to gold dust, so your advice is being heeded, and if no one else will buy or swap with a V6 Pug manual box, then I would be happy to let you have it as well as meet you.
Again I have to say that stripping this V6 has been a heartache, but the general bodywork condition and its refusal to run, coupled with the fact I have an Activa in better condition (as well as finances) forced me to take this drastic step. As previously mentioned in other posts, the only solace is that I should be able to make the Activa a V6 out of the whole sorry episode.
When it comes to the 2.0l Turbo engine and gearbox, I will of course be looking for it to go to a good home.
I will also cheekily suggest (and I really don't expect it to happen as this is very cheeky) that anyone who helps me with the conversion will get the parts they want (like the 2.0litre turbo engine and gearbox) for free.
The autobox will need to be sold though, as it is the only way I can raise the cash to buy a manual box for the conversion.

Darn it!
That didn't work.
If anyone can let me know how to upload photos I'd be grateful.
Alternatively PM with an email address and I'll send the photos in your prefered choice of archive (ie Zip, 7z, rar etc.).
Sorry.
Pete

Hi Pete,
Is that code KQH!?
Instructions for posting piccies;
This starts from the point where it is assumed you have a series of pictures already on
the PC and they're preferably (usually) in a jpeg format!
1: Where you get started - http://www.photobucket.com
Remember too you'll need to create a user name with a password to access their system
and post images.
The images/video upload:

2: To get a specific picture you click on the upload option which will pop up a search
dialogue to choose what you want to post:

Which then uploads onto photobucket and is catalogued onto your user account where
it is viewed in two ways:
A - small thumbnail with annoying dropdown options box which plays hard to get:

CLOSEUP:

the code required for a forum picture insert is the highlighted blue WHOLE string such as:
[ IMG]http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/ ... ture24.png[/IMG]
*To get the code to display, I've slipped a barspace after the first [IMG)
B - a larger image filling the screen better which is possible by clicking on the
previously shown above thumbnail:

3: After all that, this code/text can be copied and pasted onto the script entry
at the relevant part of your post as you would any posting, giving an end result of:

There are other photo hosting websites although the only other one I've used before is
http://imageshack.us/ although I prefer photobucket.
All the best,
Andrew

This box would be perfect for the V6 being sold on the bay of E at the moment.
Alas, no money and no room mean its not going to be me

Thanks Andrew, I'm using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and ran into problems with Photobucket, but Image shack has a cross-platform bulk uploading tool which I was able to install in minimal time, and without fuss.
I am right now uploading the images, and hopefully those will now appear with this post.
The V6 non starting problem was down to a faulty cut-out switch and corroded wiring connections on the R/H bulkhead. I only found this out when the car was mostly stripped, but by this point the decision to create an Activa V6 had already been made, so there was no going back. I feel confident that I won't have running/starting problems after the conversion as all the relevant connections will be attended to during installation.

OK that works in preview mode, I hope it's all there when I click submit!
Thanks again for your prompt and informative help Andrew.
The paint code is also in the pics, and on reflection it does look like a 'Q' not an 'O' as previously submitted.
Toby I feel for you I really do, room and money (as well as condition) is the main reason I can't support both cars
I'll check out the Bay of E and see what the score is, plus I need to find out what I should sell the gearbox and associated bits for....so much work to do...so little time...etc.
Thanks again for your help all, no doubt I will be posting more as I get into difficulties with the conversion (not being pessimistic, just realistic after seeing the plethora of pipes and wires that will need re-routing, eg like the coolant pipes to the autobox...).
