That's a rare car then! :?

I must say, I've NEVER seen a 2.0 CX auto in either petrol or diesel flavour!
As far as the Douvrin or it's predecessor goes, they were all manuals. Auto
options as c-matic or 3 speed were the order of the day with 2.4 and 2.5
petrols again, no diesels.

...I was wondering the same Andrew. :?

As the numberplate isn't in full view, a bit of trial and error was in order.
A quite look on the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry, with the reg number being E293 VML it says it's a 2.5:
The enquiry is complete
The vehicle details for E293 VWL are:
Date of Liability 01 12 2011
Date of First Registration 17 08 1987
Year of Manufacture 1987
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2500CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status SORN Not Due
Vehicle Colour SILVER
Edit - you beat me to it again!

I wonder why they are being scrapped, initial impressions in the piccies suggest they are about 100x nicer than most of the knackered rusting hulks that you normally find

The same seller also has this for sale:

But in the piccies, you can make out another CX, XM & BX?

I wonder if its just a collector rather than a scrappy as the piccies are next to a residential property? Might be worth contacting the seller to find out the story if anyone's interested in saving the cx beasts.

...good spot - those Matra's are peculiar looking beasts too.

Yep there's definitely a BX and XM but I think that the silver CX at the front of the house is possibly one of the estates as in one of the pictures it looks like a CX Estate roof line.

Definitely looks like a Citroën fan so hopefully he's not scrapping it for no reason.
Safari's are getting rare nowadays though...

The Safari is easily the best EVER estate car out there and the best stab at
one Citroen made IMHO. Seems a shame to see these go for spares but
betting money (if I had any :P) would suggest the rear wings, door jambs,
roof rails and tailgate hinge are nothing but powder held together by paint.

 It's so sad.

I recall blasting around the UK in a DTR2 Safari at an effortless 80-90mph
gallop all day long and still being amazed at the 40mpg this superb payload
the size of a Hercules Cit could manage. The Xm estate just doesn't cut it.

The CX Safari is a 'proper' estate too that you can actually get a lot of stuff into...unlike some of these so called estates nowadays!

I think that there's not many Safaris and Familiales left nowadays because they were so good at their task in hand back in the day. They got used and abused and due to this the bad ones have been scrapped and not many cherished and good ones are left.
Save one if you can! :)

Sadly, on the DTR he certainly looks like he's finally given up the fight trying to
weld onto something that isn't there in the rear wheelarches.

I have several estates Franklin; I love'em!

I went quite a way to save one, but it was half tidy :) to start with. just had to re pipe it, new brakes, rear arms, ball joints and spheres etc.. My Mam and her friends used it to tour Scotland with :) then I used it to shift all the building materials and pavers etc when we moved house, the site manager said I could have all the sand and gravel I move in the car... hahahaha sucker!
