Hi,
Having tried to lock the boot with a key (406 Diesel Estate) it would not lock because key would not turn. Now the boot does not lock when using the remote lock on the key fob. Could I have disturbed a sensor when inserting the key? Need help on this one, your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonnya.

Unusual
Take the trim off the tailgate and unplug the solenoid to the lock. While you are here look for anything obviously amiss / bent / broken.
Then try to lock the car again (either key in door or remote)
I doubt you have done much to cause it from what you say, my initial guess is as the tailgate on these estates covers in muck easily you have just got some into the lock itself, you could try an aerosol of wd40 or similar (with the straw adaptor) and 'clean' the lock out as best as you can.
