K1H Citroen BX 1990

Post by noltha »

Hello,
Can anyone give me some information about this engine type?
Its a BX (1360cc) from the Netherlands, Belgium with the following engine type:
"K1H" (TU3A/N)
Here in the Netherlands we dont got the Haynes manual but the "vraagbaak". Any engine type is discussed in there BUT not K1H.
Can somebody help me?
It look like they change the Carb. on it! And also a fual filter system in the left - front seems to be un operational.
Regards,
Nol

I have checked a Haynes Manual and the K1H engine is not listed.
The K1G engine is fully covered. That is not the end of it. My car is fitted with an XU D9A engine but the tag on the cylinder head reads D9B.
so logically it is possible that your engine is a K1G if you read the designation from the tag.

This entry for the K1H engine is on the BX DIY site - looks like a detuned K1G (bit like the BX15 as compared to the BX16)
K1H (TU3A/N) BX 14 (May 88—) for Germany and the Netherlands
Bore × stroke: 75 × 77 mm
Compression ratio: 8.8 : 1
Maximum power: 65 hp at 5,600 rpm
Maximum torque: 106 Nm at 3,400 rpm

Can you give me some more info about this engine type?
It's all about K1G.
If i look to my carb. it seems it's a weber with only one hole!
(instead of the standard two holes from solex)
According to DIY site it is the WEBER 34 TLC 4/200 carb.
Is this the original Carb for this engine type?
Like i posted earlyer it seems that a whole bunch of cables (filter)seems to be unused.

Don't worry about having a Weber carb instead of Solex - again this is common to a detuned Cit engine. They are also thought to be more reliable than Solex, if an autochoke is fitted.
There should be a Netherands/German forum or publication with the information you require, as this engine variant was only fitted to the BX14 in these countries. It may also have been fitted on some Peugeot models.
