Pump and Headlight

Post by Ross »

I have purchased the o ring to renew on the 19mm nut on the pump (Xantia 95 1.9td) where I have had a leak for sometime.

If I remove the small pipe nut and LHM pipe can I move it enough to one side to get a socket on the 19mm nut ? or is the pipe immovable

I have also manged to get a headlight glass for the front n/side headlight which has a defective glass

What is the black seal between the glass and the headlight - is it a one piece seal or some sort of mastic/sealer,

Last one - where can I buy Hydroflush and how much is it - How much do I need for the system ?

Mot retest tomorrow - happy Days

Thaks All

Yes, although the nut can be very tight - better attached to the engine than
on a removed off the engine pump though.

I've found it to be dry and similar to a window draught excluder acting as
packing in the gap between the light reflector and the glass - the clips
simply hold it all under tension grip.[/quote]

AFAIK, GSF do still sell it, it cost around £15 (hazy memory these days)
for 5 litres and I've found I use about 2/3 of it in a Xantia although I didn't
bleed it right through the dead end spurs to the brake calipers, just the
main circuit and the returns.

:D

All the best with the retest!

For the pipe, you'll really need to undo some of the retaining brackets around the pump so that you can pull the pipe out enough without stressing it.
