307 hdi 110 misfire

Post by bodace5 »

hi all. my diesel 307 has developed a bad misfire under 2000 revs. no engine light on or faults coming up on the display. it was intermitant at first but its doing it all the time now. no smoke and it starts, idles and drives fine over 2000 revs. when it was intermitant took it to peugeot and they suggested getting the injectors reconditioned but at £130 each. so i opted for a set of used injectors at £130 and fitted them but it made no difference. ive since soaked the fuel pressure sensor and the fuel pressure regulator in thinners to clean them but still no different. a friend of mine has a snap-on diagnostic computer which i will plug in tomorrow but im not sure it will show me anything. any ideas? cheers, matthew

I have only just got my first Hdi so have had very little experience with them, but having no smoke when the problem occurs suggests an electrical problem rather than a mechanical one.
