C5 2002 HDi 2.0 auto - Anti Pollution fault

Post by amjake »

Hi all,

Overtaking on dual carriageway on friday car shuts down, shows ANTI POLLUTION FAULT and Engine mgt light and Service light show on dash. Speed dropped down and then cut out just as managed to get to roadside.

Had full service last week, all oils filters etc. however in garage overnight friday and road tested fault appears to cleared, I have a long journey tomorrow monday any suggestions before setting off?

Garage has no diagnostics for citroen, guy with full diagnostic gear can be called in at cost which from other chats it appears anti pollution is a bit of a catch all??

Indeed, Antipollution can point to a few things and a proper Lexia diagnostic would probably narrow down the possibilities.

I am currently having similar problems that a new MAF fixed for a while but comes back intermittently.

If you could get one of the Lexia owners to run a diagnostic for you it would help considerably.

With computer hooked up fault codes diagnosed low/no fuel pressure (? - only relaying what garage has said) metal slithers in filter was as suggested bearing in pump breaking down so pump/sender unit replaced. However, after fitting new pump, fuel gauge lights orange moves up slightly (tank 3/4 full) and "Low Fuel" indicated on dashboard binnacle.

Garage has also replaced old unit to test and low fuel and light on, whereas previously worked correctly.

Suggestions to rectify appreciated.

Further update

Laptop tested Fuel guage working correctly through range, fuel pump tested working correctly, wiring tested working correctly and when all connected binnacle shows "Low Fuel" and dash reads low fuel and reserve light on! Tank is over 3/4 full.

Call in the Exorcist????

I'd try a hard reset - you might well find that it all works OK then.

Hi All

I know how important resolved problems are to you so here goes....

'Low Fuel' When replacing new pump garage said tank showed 3/4 full but new pump in showed near empty - tank was near empty!

However, we then went into a non start situation, having to use East Start to get going!

Into diesel specialists and injectors 2 and 3 shot, poor/leaking/low pressure etc.

Recondition 2 injectors or all 4, ALL 4 please!

Car now running as to be expected, thanks for suggestions etc.
