Not sure about the LX but the others do - except mine that broke on it's first run, home from the sales site. Never bothered to fix it.

I think i agree with Steve, all other models do, but im sure the LX does not have the trip computer.

What spec C5 do you have?

Ok so that in mind, what does the button the wiper stalk do on an LX trim C5?

my spec brochure for Fen 2003 says auto only on LX. Presumably this would cover previous years specs as they don't usually get worse on revamp.

Well probably nothing ... do you also have a button on the end of the light stalk ...

Id have thought they would have had different stalks, as you wont have auto wipers or lights either?

I don't think my lx has mpg figure, if it does I've no idea how to make it appear.

Yes there is a button on the light one too(doesnt do anything) . The one on the wiper stalk seems to change the display from time to temp. Seems odd that it would only do that.

On the SX the centre display is different and always shows time and temp. The button cycles through the display on the speedo and shows stuff like average speed, average consumption/instantaneous consumption, range and possibly some other stuff.
As said, mine only worked for the first hour I had the car. May fix it one day.

Ah, hopefully some other LX drivers will see this. I should have made the title MPG display instead of just display.

Odd how you have the buttons but all it does is cycle through the time or temp, those should be on show anyway you would think.

Ive not had a goo look at an LX though.

Every spec above LX has a larger central display which shows the time and temperature always.

Pressing the end of the wiper stalk scrolls through the menus which appears in the middle lcd screen. It goes from date, to miles left in the tank, instant MPG, Average MPH, average speed. Then there is a basic code read setting, a speed warning beeper setting where you can alter the speed it warns you at and then your back to the start again.

On the facelifted C5 II the display is very different, it has a small on board computer where you can change options like the auto door locking, activating the rear wiper when the fronts are on and you engage reverse. Even things like activating simultaneous heating controls so you dont have to adjust both sides on the dual zone climate. There are different display settings for the radio, and trip computer, the climate control also uses the same screen. As a result the screen is more full and informative than earlier C5s, it provides more information at one time.

Im thinking it may have been changed at some point as today i was playing with it and somehow managed to set the speed warning thing. It kept beeping at 30mph. I held the button down and managed to get rid of it.
I have been told I can change it for the larger screen and everything should work though.

Might be worth a try, as the larger screen is nice to have, i like the trip computers.

With the larger screen you get a visual display of the speed warning system.

Incidentally I was having a bit of a play with a 56 plate Exclusive C5 today, the centre display is also used for the parking sensors, which it has front and rear on the Exclusive, it gives a detail outline of the car and once you get near something lines appear to tell you which corner of the car your close to something with and more lines appear the closer you get, there is also an audible display.

Ive done without parking sensors this far without a scratch, so I can live without that! It could be a bit of a bonus though perhaps. Another nice feature.

Just dont buy an Exclusive with the light interior, its awful. The one I saw earlier was very grubby and the material isnt as nice as the other spec ranges. Its so light, as are the carpets it would be impossible to keep clean.
