I changed my fuel filter yesterday and I cant seem to get the fuel housing air tight. There is air getting in from somewhere.
The bleed screw is blanked off by a PO owner and didnt seem to cause issues before.
I am running a 50 / 50 Veg / Diesel mix.
The filter is seated properly and the rubber seal sits in the groove nicely. Top is tight.
What am I doing wrong?

First bit of outlet pipe gone hard, second bit to size adaptor on way to pump also gone hard so leaking, third part goes hard and needs replacing.
Basically find new fuel line to fit both filter body spigot and fuel pump banjo.
Also replace leak off pipes between injectors.

Primer bulb, pipe from primer to filter housing, o-ring under housing.
The black elbow bit of pipe from the housing can let in air as the clip weakens with moving it around when the filter is changed.

The seal goes over and around the lip in the top of the filter. I'm now wondering what groove you've fitted it to?the moog wrote:The filter is seated properly and the rubber seal sits in the groove nicely. Top is tight.

ALSO Check down the back of the engine, the fuel pipes come off the bulk head and curve in a U shape onto the engine... These can split inside the U so when its at rest can look fine but with engine moovment it opens and closes the split...

The filter has got a rubber lip round it so it sits in the housing.
I replace the clips on the hose coming off the top of the housing and tightened them. I also used some silicon gasket sealant round the top of the fuel filter housing which seems to have worked.
It was a lot worse to start and took quite a few goes to get it going then it smoked like a Rover Return Landlady. I could see the air bubbles. They seem to have disappeared now and it is running a lot better.
Hopefully that is it fixed
