Looking for a bit of advice!
As promised to my faithful Xantia after its epic 1000 mile in a day journey to Austria and then back, I thought I would have a little peak around to keep on top of things.
Noticed that the rear height corrector had seized. Freed it up on the car with judicious use of a penetrating lube and then white grease. Works a treat now!
Just a question though. I decided to time the lift from low to high.
Approx. 25 seconds for rear to start and fully raised by 45 seconds. Then front immediately after rear has completed but only 25 seconds to raise.
High to low suspension. Front drops down immediately rear sinks slowly.
What are other Xantia owners experiences? What would original manufacturer timings be? And I am sure mine is far from perfect so what would be affecting this?
Would a Hydrarinse improve things?

From low to high, the car has to build the pressure back up, as pressure is virtually totally released in low. So it will take a while to start to move from the low position. 45 seconds doesn't sound too unreasonable, maybe a tiny bit slow perhaps.

and the reason the back takes longer to sink than the front is because relatively speaking the back weighs sod all. both my xantias take forever to sink at the back. My HDi has 2 new height correctors as well.

yep, the back raises first too, i find you need about 2 people in the back to get it to raise or lower evenly.

That's good to know that it is at least operating correctly.
The Xantia seems a lot more reliable in terms of its suspension when compared to my long-gone BX TZD which had a mind of its own.
As you rightly say, the back end is lighter and therefore takes longer to respond. Is there not some kind of valve which splits the circuits at the front and rear?
Noticed last night as I did a few more Citaerobics that the read is now getting stuck on high. I am wishing that I had Hydracleansed it prior to going to Austria because that would have been in for the 2500 miles round trip.

Our Xm is very quick to rise when i leave it parked in low. Non-antisink cars lift quicker than cars equipped with anti-sink.

there are lots of ways to tell but without getting dirty a non anti sink car has a single output pump driven by a v belt, the Pressure regulator has 3 pipes going to it and there is a FDV valve to feed the steering.
With an anti sink the pumps are usualy driven by a ribbed multi v belt and have two output pipes, the pressure regulator has only two pipes and there is no FDV.
All MK1 XM's were sinkers and early MK2's as well, almost all Xantia were anti sink apart from all K reg and some L registered ones which were sinkers.
