Hi all.
further to the other post of mine about rear wheel wear, we finally decided to get rear tyres fitted as soon as the snow, Ice, Christmas and New Year were over! BUT!! Can't find the rear alloys wheel lock nut! I have searched all over the vehicle at 0800hrs this morning for about an hour and it's not wanting to be found. Anyone know of it's secret hid hole? If not, what are the options?
Anyone had this problem before? My grand daughter knows nothing about it, but must have been given one at purchase date.
Any help appreciated, even sarcastic comments quite acceptable in the circumstances!
Bob.

Sounds like it's lost Bob
It's usually stored with the supplied jack.
Unfortunately Renault have loads of different patterns for their locking nuts. Post a picture of the nut, who knows, you might get lucky and someone on here has the same one.
The dealership can get a new locking nut for you, but they are made to order, come from France and cost a fortune.
Your best bet will be to order a new set of locking nuts. Genuine Renault ones can be obtained fairly cheaply on ebay. Either forceably remove the existing locking nuts yourself or get a garage to do it, there are various methods.
Either way I would get it seen to at the nearest opportunity, as having a puncture and no way of removing the wheel could be a major headache!

Thanks for the quick response Evially, I know it's going to cost her unless I can do it myself. Any suggestions? I was a qualified mechanic but never had to remove one of those, and she has four!!! I haven't had a good look at them yet but will get a picture or pattern of one.
I don't think she has lost it as there is no jack nor wheel brace either. She has had the car nearly two years now and never missed them till now, dizzy B!
Bob.
PS. I have a mig welder!

Not sure what to do, I'll have a look at them tomorrow and think of the options. If it was one I would consider destroying it completely to remove it , but four?
This is something I've never had to deal with before and honestly I'm f****d! What to do?

Hi All.
Sorry to take so long getting back but things did go pretty slow BUT My local Renault dealer got me a lock bolt key as I found the key number in the log book. Cost £18 plus VAT. So saved a lott of grief!
The tyres removed were worn most on the outer half of the tread, looks like the wheels are toe-ed out. OR , the wheels don't have enough weight on them!
Thanks for all comments and help.

Re: Renault Scenic wheel nut lock
Hi All,
I was in a dilemma myself and this forum helped me get the right answer. I ordered lock bolt keys from Renault for £20 +VAT from the dealer and they were more than happy to oblige. I ordered it on a Tuesday and they said I'd have it by Friday, so as long as you have a few days to wait it's a good option.
