hi,
I have an 02 picasso 1.8 petrol, just got a handbook from e bay as mine didnt come with one. in the central locking part of the handbook,it states that you can "aut lock" the car,as I can with the mrs scenic, I followed the instructions on doing it on mine but nothing happens, I can press the locking button and everything locks, but it won't auto lock. now the book covers picassos from 99-2006,so i'm guessing the auto lock function was probably added after 02? just wondered if anyone could verify that? cheers,dean..
auto locking on picasso?

I think your right, earlier Picassos probably didn't have the auto-locking feature.
Its the same with C5s, earlier ones don't auto lock.

I'm pretty certain they do have the auto lock system on them, switch on the ignition & then hold down the locking button on the dash for a few seconds until you hear a ping/beep, it should say auto locking activated on the display but note it only auto locks after you've driven above 12-15mph+. The only way to get them to lock straight away is once everyone is in the car then use the locking button to lock the doors. Using the auto locking does not 'dead lock' the doors so they can still be opened as normal from inside the car but doing this will unlock all 4 doors simultaneously.
As a matter of interest i think ALL Citroen's with the dash mounted locking button have the auto locking facility such as the C2/3/4/5 etc as does both Berlingo's (m/s & van).

S1 C5s do not have this feature, ive tried, they don't. Facelifted cars do, however. So im thinking it might be similar on the Picasso.
Id like it on the C5, as its a good thing to have, but im almost certain the early ones can't be programmed to auto-lock, which does seem strange.

My S1 C5 used to lock the doors from the outside at about 6mph. Just from the outside. You could hear the clunk.Citroenmad wrote:S1 C5s do not have this feature, ive tried, they don't. Facelifted cars do, however. So im thinking it might be similar on the Picasso.

Is this not the same thing or is autlock something else? I'm confused.

well,
mine is an 02 picasso 1.8 sx...... I have tried several times to activate the auto lock, but it doesn't do anything. I have held the button down for thirty seconds or more and it doesn't show anything on the dash or activate auto lock.I believe that it was probably introduced on models 03 onwards? we hasve berlingos at work and an 03 one we have will auto lock, but mine definitely won't....not to worry......

I know the boot locks at 6mph on all C5s.
Comms2000 is the unit on multiplexed cars like the C5 which is the indicator and wiper stalk unit, it surrounds the steering wheel and transmits information to the cars ECU, to enable the inputs to work the cars controls. It can fail and start operating things it shouldnt, but its not too common.
