Recent Ebay finds

Unread post by Toby_HDi »

Just idlely browsing the bay whilst my bank account whimpers, thought I ought to post these up for general interest.

This seems to be a CCC members car so is probably known to some on here. Does look very nice...

Citroen CX

A rather nice looking DS at an eyewatering price however, even if it is the going rate...

DS Safari

Nothing remarkable about the price or anything for that matter but just something I wouldn't mind going for a hoon in...

Clio V6

Finally, a modern barge. Seems remarkable value to me, thats French barge depreciation for you. I wouldn't mind one of these one day...

Those bumper inserts are only suitable for S1 models.

Exclusive alloys, oh the joy of getting those balanced

Clio V6
A car I intend to own one day, remarkable machines and without a doubt a future classic. I know there's not a lot of Renault love on this forum, but what mainstream car manufacturer would dare to build such a thing these days? And Renault are still doing it, with their bonkers Megane R26.R, officially the fastest production front wheel drive car ever made.

I've never driven a V6, but was fortunate to have a few passenger laps round Cadwell Park with the RenaultSport product manager at the wheel (his company car at the time). The man has serious skills and pushed the car very hard. Certainly one of my most memorable times in a car. Simply an awesome experience having a 3.0, 255bhp V6 screaming right behind you at 7,500rpm 8-)

A nice taste in cars you have Dean!

They are all very tempting looking cars arn't they, maybe surprisingly the CX would be the last on my list of the cars there.

That DS is stunning, if i was having a DS it would ideally be a Safari, their rareness and looks appeal to me, and thats a fantastic looking example. I believe that is the going rate for one in such condition and its rare value too.

Ah, a V6 Clio, what a mad car that must be, and i agree, how did a manufacturer come to build that in the first place? What an awesome bit of kit, id not say no to one! There is a silver S1 Clio V6 which lives around the corner from me, seems to be an everyday driver, they had two at one point.

Those 607s are indeed very tempting, thats a bit of a bargain. I guess they didn't do a 3.0V6 manual in the 607? Id have one of those too, though it would be a diesel for me.

Another appealing Renault, almost certain to become a future classic, an Avantime. In the right spec, 3.0V6 Manual:

We had another one for sale about a week ago but that's now sold - a 28,000 mile CX 25 Pallas IE in white. 8-)

My tyre blokes told me the other day, my OSR rim was knackered (it's been repaired before) - vibration seems worse now.

Been casting an eye towards Fleabay for some V6 Xantia alloys as they're 6J×15 - anyone seen a decent set off a S2 car?

Also, I love how Fleabay tries to "second guess" the sort of stuff you're looking out for.

Today it was thrusting upon me, a large selection of wheels and tyres... I was looking for a toilet pan.
