Code P1637?

Car seems to have been getting worse lately. The EML on constantly, “Antipollution Fault” pings up on every startup.
Still no turbo below 3,000 revs and sometimes more. Often revs limited to 2,800.
No power when cold – one day I couldn't get it over 15mph until it had warmed up for five minutes. Gradually increased to 30mph then shot away, revving easily up to 4,500 and plenty of boost.
Hasn't been helped by the handbrake cables seizing up and burning out what was left of the pads.

We took my son's 306 to get the blower sorted today. Naturally it burst into life for the first time in two weeks as we pulled up outside the garage. Guy fixed the loose wires and lubricated the bearings but it will need a new fan eventually. It will be going in for some welding and a few other bits ready for it's MOT.

While there the guy read my fault codes – he has a Snap-On code reader.

P0100: Mass Air Flow sensor 'a' circuit.
P0101: Mass Air Flow sensor 'a' circuit. (Blockage/leak in circuit)
P0335: Cranckshaft position sensor*
P0401: EGR valve – poor flow.
P0426: Turbocharger
P1637: No info on this code**

Quite a list, which he reset then I took the car for a blast on the motorway. Went much better than recently and on return and having the codes re-read the only one still there was indicating a MAF problem.
Going to replace the MAF and see where we go from there. He can get a new kosher Bosch MAF (OE) at a discount

I'm sure a replacement MAF won't be the end of it though.

* Probably caused by stalling the engine trying to get out of ice ruts a couple of weeks ago.
** Citroen specific code. Anyone any suggestions?

(May be “CAN link ECM/INSTM circuit / network malfunction “)

I'm not altogether convinced and he has just phoned to say the the MAF is £101+VAT. Going to check with the local dealer as I believe they were about £85+VAT from there.

Just been out in it.
Poor performance back, along with the antipollution message, lousy acceleration while cold, a load of grey smoke accelerating on an up ramp at 30mph (max speed for first two miles).
Revs die off at 2800 again.

have you got access to service citroen Steve, if not post the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. and i will look it up for you, and get price and part No.,

then you could aim the part No. at either FUEL PARTS

Thanks Malcolm. Couldn't spot anything on the fpuk site and I can't remember my login to Service Citroen.

I'll have a scrounge around and try and find the VIN. God knows where the documentation is though.

Should get an email in the morning from the dealer. Was too lazy to drive down there, my excuse being a birthday party for a grandson.

My main query is the error code though - anyone any suggestions.

Probably Malcolm but it has slipped and is unreadable

Also, the car is out there in the cold

VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] (found the "CAR" file. Just need to round up all the receipts to bung in it).

Dealer hasn't responded yet and I am rather sceptical about the MAF being responsible but what do I know.

The quoted chassis number is two digits short i.e. Fifteen when there are seventeen in a chassis number.
