Parking assistance warning

Unread post by Philjw »

Hi,
I'm getting a fault message saying that the parking sensors on the C5 are faulty. It seems to be the front ones. Is there a way to check out the sensors without a Lexia? Can they be tested with a multimeter?
Is the fault usually with a sensor not the control box?
Any ideas gratefully accepted

First thing I'd do at the moment is make sure that there's no snow build-up on the sensors, which would fool them into thinking that they were up against a wall no matter which way the car went.

assuming the out side is clean the sensors usually fail due to water ingress, unpluging each sensor & checking the conector for corrosion will usually pinpoint the one causing the problem.

Dirt can confuse sensors too, they have possibly been dislodged too, so check they are still fitted correctly and are clean.

It might be the easiest option to get it on a Lexia.
