I have a 99 xantia petrol and the clip on my clutch pedal has snapped off just 3 months after having new one fitted the garage said the clip will snap again because the clutch may need replacing and when it needs to the clutch gets "heavy" and this is why the clip snapped is he right?
Could i have an answer as quickly as possible as the car is already in garage and find out tomorrow the full story.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
Yes, sadly this is the likely cause of repeated clip failures. It is a quirk of the clutch that it gets heavier and heavier as it wears.
The clutch should be very light and when your new one is fitted, you'll be amazed at just how light it is...
