Xsara 2 headlamp leveller

Changed a bulb in my Sister's Xsara this afternoon and the OS headlight is making some rather rough sounding grinding noises - changes when the level adjustment is changed, so presumably the mechanism is seized / broken somewhere inside. Anyone got any experience? I looked on service.citroen, and there doesn't seem to be a separate part for he adjuster, so I assume it is part if the headlamp - no idea if it can be separated for 'fixing'!! Anyone know how to get the headlamp out to have a look at it?

If memory serves me correctly, they are a right pig to get out, The BoL say's bumper off and I seem to recall coming exceedingly close to having to that. I think you can take the headlight out but not a 100% certain.

The one I did had a smashed up off side front wing, and I'm not sure if that helped or hindered.......

To get the headlamp out you'll need to remove the bumper. Also the cross bar needs to come off because the bottom headlight bolt is behind it. The bar is held by two bolts each side, and the headlamp with three.
