206 Rear Wiper Arm

Post by CitroJim »

During the week, Robyn, my daughter, switched on her rear wiper whilst the screen was covered in ice. Being as the rear wiper arm is just flimsy plastic, it promptly broke at the boss where it attaches to the wiper motor spindle.

Our factors don't stock them "Main Dealer Only Mate..."

Grateful if someone could look up Service Box and quote the part number for me please. It's a 1999 206 LX 1.4

I believe it might be the same as a Citroen Saxo or very late Xantia Estate one. Part Number 6429 R2. Described as a Blade-Holder.

Many thanks.

6429.R2 is correct Jim. Price from Peugeot stated as £15.89 inc VAT.

It is the same as the one fitted to Saxos after RP 8331 and late Xantias after RP 8421.

Price is the same from Citroen.

The local scrappy has LOADS of 206s and Saxos in at the moment. Would you like me to go grab one or two for you?
Toby

Thanks Toby, that's brilliant, really appreciate that!

Thanks for the offer from a scrappy but for £16, I'll get a new one. Besides, Robyn is complaining she's missing her rear wiper. I can only assume the 206 is one of those little cars that gets it's rear screen very mucky very quickly in the wet.

To be honest, I hardly use rear wipers on the hatches but I remember on the estate it was in very heavy use. Must be the flatness of the tailgate.

They do snap with a slightly alarming ease.

Might want a puller to assist the old one off (unlikely but its been known) , watch the glass :o

Doubt you would find a aftermarket one that is any good to be honest, given the price of a dealer one I'd go for that too.

Jim, let me have a quick look in my "spares stash" tomorrow before you go to the dealers.
