2001 Scenic Rear Knocking - Exhaust??? *(2,0 Auto)

Knocking coming from the rear (seems to be passenger side) not all the time but getting more frequent.

I assumed it was an exhaust bracket/rubber has come loose.

Just took it to the local garage, who said that the exhaust system appears to be fine. Seemed to be a little close to the petrol tank at the back for my liking, but all the brackets and rubbers were in place.

Any ideas what it might be, or is my initial thoughts re the exhaust more than likely correct, and best to take it to another garage for a second opinion.

(may even try and get some photo's up, for a second opinion)

hi sounds like a broken rear shocker, hope this helps..

i ll go with the rear shock too , the springs break inside causing an exhaust type of knock .mine have done this twice now
