xantia boot fitting

Will a later xantia boot/hatch (p reg with built in brake light) fit a early 1993 without built in brake light as my early hatch looks quite bad (crazed fibreglass)

I don't see why not, but changing the tailgate on a hatchback, particularly one as big as a Xantia is not a job to undertake lightly - it will be very difficult to get it lined up precisely and to get it in position will be a 2 or more likely 3 man job.
All early Xantias suffer with bad paint on the tailgate to some extent. Would it not be easier to get it resprayed?
