- Press and hold the zero button
- Switch on ignition, display starts counting down from 10, keep it pressed until it finishes.
- You'll see the display flash up with =0 and you're done.
You can also change the service interval. Either 12k or 20k. Same procedure as above but release the button before it finishes counting down, then use the zero button to select the interval you want, then press and hold the button until it completes the countdown.

I didnt know about the option to extend the service interval counter. I didnt know they were ever on 20K servicing.

I think its because the same circuitry in the odometer part at least is shared between petrol / diesel, hence you can switch it to other intervals.
The older ones (306's for example) you could change them between 6k and 9k (and possibly 4.5k)

I've put off doing a drop link on the front of mine as it was cold out, now its worse what with about 3 inches of snow ( no garage or driveway ) so it will have to wait a bit longer.
I know its only 5 minutes if that (might not even take the wheel off actually) but with it being cold / bad weather it will decide to be one of the annoying ones and spin (hacksaw time)

This is certainly not the time to be doing non urgent jobs but having only recently bought the car, it looked as though the oil had not been changed for some time and I am clocking up the miles, its in pretty good condition at the moment and I would like to keep it that way.
The weather here is not as bad as many of you are experiencing, we have had a little snow but it has mostly gone now - but its not hot
Peter

Understand
Tis as you say not the ideal time for outside work, but with you just having purchased, it needs doing as you say.
As a usual rule of thumb, I tend to get everything done around October (even if its a bit early) to ensure I do not have to do much over the winter months (certainly till late Jan / early Feb) , although there are exceptions obviously.

That would be a good idea, though it does depend on when things fail or things need servicing on the cars. My MOT was due before today, so that was last month i got that done, thankfully it didn't require me to do any work.spider wrote:

Its just due a service so i really should be outside doing that, but as i do it every 6K i think i can go a little bit over that until the weather is a little better.
Its been snowing on and off most of the day here, hail too. Its currently a blizzard.
