What is the highest mileage Xantia on the forum I wonder ?

Post by HDI »

As I am quietly impressed with the miles my HDI exclusive has attained and the good service it continues to give, I was wondering what is the highest mileage Xantia is on the forum ?

To start with, mine has 175,500 and counting.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
My past Citroens :-
'00 Xantia SX HDI, now dead due to accident :(
'99 Xantia HDI 110 Exclusive, RIP :(
'97 Xantia TD SX
'96 Xantia TD LX
'96 ZX TD
'89 BX TD
'88 AX GT
'79 CX2400 Pallas (scrapped :( )
& a couple of Peugeots !

Highest one of mine has now passed the 234,567 level a month ago
- damned annoyed I didn't have battery power in my camera to make
a memento record!

Still going strong an MOT'd. What will be interesting to separate out
here are the cars in private use rather than earning their keep as Taxis.

And what's the lowest mileage?

Oy! Malcolm have you been clocking it or has it gone round once? I cannot believe 20K on an R plate, especially as I know how much you use it. [-X

My old 1996 2.0 petrol estate had done 250K, but now lives on as a trailer. Coming up on the outside rails is our X plate 1.8 estate at 192K. Methinks it had a life as a taxi, but it still performs well.

Although I'm going back a few years (to say about 2004 / 2005) and not Xantia, I used to get a 406 HDi taxi in for oil changes, and that had 300k on it at least, and it was an early HDi too.

No idea what the sensible life of the HDi unit is, going to depend on how well its looked after (both with respect to driving it and servicing it) , although I would expect quite a lot ;)

Our HDi Exclusive ticked over 100k last month.

1998 Series 1 V6 Xantia is on 44k miles.
1998 Series 2 Xantia Activa is on 53k miles.

Not a Xantia:

2000 Series 2 XM V6 Exclusive is on 50k miles.

I know its slightly off topic but the XM uses the same 2.1 engine as the Xantia, I Have one with about 270k on it, I say about because my son drives and its got about another 5k on it every time I see it. I sold one a few years ago with 292k, still going OK but the clutch would slip if you pushed it.

212k at the moment. Clocked up an immense amount of miles in its first few years of service as a fleet car.
