C5 washer bottle..

how close to the bumper is it sited?

hypothetically speaking...

say someone ..'ahem' got annoyed with trying to replace D/S headlamp bulb & errrmmm rather than smashing headlamp, kicked the bumper several times :shock: then noticed water dripping out.
is said idiot likely to have cracked the bottle or pulled out pipes?
motor still works, maybe dislodged motor?
currently '06 C5 2.0 HDi auto estate Tip run and France trekker - well should be!! occupied currently by '10 Superb DSG 170 elegance- whistles and bells that work

I doubt that the washer bottle will be damaged but more likely the pump dislodged or one of the hose spigots cracked.
Have a photo - somewhere :?

The washer bottle is on the front right corner and the motor is on the outside.

You'll need to remove the bumper to see what's happened. It's not difficult to get the front bumper off.

To do it, lift the bonnet. Undo 4 screws along the front cross member (above the double chevron on the front gill).

Undo 3 off 90 degree screws under the front bottom edge.

Then, at each wheel arch, there's one screw at the top corner of the bumper and one screw underneath the bottom edge.

Once all screws are out the sides of the whole bumper just pull forward and outwards from the wings. Do this carefully because there's hooked tabs on the top edge of the side of the plastic bumper which look delicate and may snap if you use too much force.

If you have headlamp washers you'll haveto unclip the front rectangular covers before undoing the above screws.

Breath deeply and take your time. If you need to kick something then have the wheely bin next to you it'll cost you less if it breaks.

I once punched a hole in the plasterboard ceiling of my garage. I got covered in dust and the remains of a mouse's nest.

If you take the plastic inner wheel arch of youl have acsess to the wires and pump and if you have a small child handy they can get there hand in for the rear bolt

finally got round to doing this today....
seems i split the area around the hole for the 'Low Level' switch which is on the outside edge.
cue the soldering iron for a bit of 'welding', a bit of roofing mastic around the rubber & at moment all seems well., X fingers!

Did anyone find any pictures of this, my windscreen washers havent worked since i've had the car and as usual i have waited until i actually need them to get around to fixing them.

Bloody road salt!!!!
