as long as there is not fault with the valve itself then yes.
Remember to block the open ends of the vac pipes

great thanks mate!!,do you have to block ends from egr valve(plastic pipes on top) or just ones from the inlet manifold?

why do you need to block em?

You need to block the rubber vac pipe that you removed from the EGR valve, If you dont you will have a vaccum leak which is on the same vaccum circuit for the servo assistance on the brakes.

two pipes ?? There only is one on the egr valve. You just need to stick a small bolt in the end of the rubber vaccum pipe you have disconected from the egr valve.

Thats the not the EGR valve, Thats the electrovalve that controls the amount of vaccum. The EGR vale is attatched to the inlet manifold.
You could also disable it from here also though by blocking the rubber pipes at the electrovalve. I hope you marked which pipe goes where incase you need to re instate the EGR.

Actually thinking about it that electrovalve is for the EGR throttle butterfly not the EGR valve itself so doing what i said above will blank this (which is a good thing also)
The EGR valve is the smaller part of number 14 in the pic & its electrovalve is built into it so you need to pull of the longest number 2 pipe at the end of number 14 & blank this pipe.

You’re welcome, it’s cost nothing and didn’t hurt. :D
Citroën has become so mean that we can’t link to their diagrams anymore.

It should be a Vaccuum reserve chamber...

At a guess, I think the C5 2.2 HDi's have them too.
