Xantia braking noise

Getting a loud roaring sound when braking to a stop, usually after travelling at speed for some time. The car is running ok and passed MOT a few weeks back. Anyone experienced this ? It started a few months ago after an emergency stop.

Hi. I get this on my Xantia V6.. usually a sign that the pads are getting low on mine. Symptom: loud drumming sound when braking from speed..

Sounds like you are metal to metal and that results in new dics as well as new pads. If an MOT tester can not see the pad thickness then they are not obliged to remove the road wheels to inspect them.
As long as the rolling road rigisters enough braking force it passes anyway.
