C5 2.2 CLUTCH

Hi folks
seems like the clutch on my 2.2 is on its way out ,starting to slip when ones right foot hits the accelertor and the car dosnt go forward as it should ..now since i have a few days off think ill have to get my hands dirty ,
firstly the DMF should i replace this ,if so with another DMF or a solid flywheel ,
£369 for a solid plus clutch plates etc or just stick a clutch in £180
makes sence to change the whole lot ,
and is there any hidden problems which i need to know about before i start pulling it to bits

It would be wise to do somthing with the flywheel - either replace with another DMF or fit a solid conversion. If you've done enough miles to wear the clutch out, then chances are the DMF is worn out too. Loks like these use the pull clutch where you have to engage the release bearing after fitting the box - Haynes tells you how.

Let us know how you get on - I may well be tackling a 2.0 HDi over Christmas....

How many miles has your 2.2 done?

The clutch started to slip on our previous C5 estate (2.0HDI 110) at 104K miles. The DMF was still fine and once clutch was replaced it worked perfectly.

I would be tempted to get rip of the DMF though, or at least replace it. If it goes in the future its the whole job again.

cars just covered 116k ,ordered a new kit ,solid fly wheel ,have to leave it with my mate to replace it all though ,working away at mo so havent got much time this weekend to do the job, typical was looking forward to replacing it ..
darn
just got to get the cruise sorted to work all the time !
