steering rack gaiter clips, how to fit them?

I had to fit a new steering rack gaiter on my 607 because the old one had split (glad I did because it was wet inside).

The new one came with a metal clip but I couldn't fit it. For the moment it's on with tie wraps.

Is there a special tool for these?

This is a pic of the old one but the new one looks the same

I used pincers like these for years:

Even so, after nearly 30 years of messing with cars/clips etc, I forgo originality and find tie wraps to be far superior...even if they are pence!

Yes, I think boot clamp pliers is what you need, although that clip looks a bit different to the ones I've used :? I got a set very cheaply on ebay to do my CV boots.
