Hi all

me trusty 405's just gone mad.

been fine all day, got home went to go again 10 mins later and its flashing and bzzing and wont turnover just clicks - al electrical items buzzing / flashing aaargh.

key blips went down years ago, alarm key in engine bay is always off, keypad immobiliser disconnected 2 years ago.

anyone any ideas - disc onnect battery??

Battery sounds like it is knackered...new one required. Once refitted you should reset the alarm with the plip, but you can't do that as it isn't working! There should be an alarm cancel switch somewhere though on the dash. Lock car, unlock, open door, press button, and turn on ignition - all within 10 seconds.

well i thought the battery - but this wierd as it was strong as an ox 10 mins earlier when i started the car!

oh ok - just googled car battery dies suddenly!! this is not at all uncommon - strange ive only ever had them slide away gently...

Check main earth leads (battery to gearbox area and either gearbox to body or battery to body)

Bad main earths can cause this too...

OK - definately battery - checked the electrolyte levels and they were not good... confirmed by battery charger gauge, so much for my strict servicing regime :? , still spoke to the father in law whos an auto sparks by trade - says top it up, charge and if its not bubbling after an hour I mght get another 12 months out of it :D
