Clutch replacement

Unread post by Gingerposer »

Folks, I am after a recommendation for a supplier of decent replacement clutch for my S2 Xantia 1.8 16v hatch, preferably online but if you happen to know of somewhere in Aberdeen, that would also be splendid!

Cheers

Update

Unread post by Gingerposer »

Progress so far - citroen specialist in Aberdeen have declared the gearbox to be toast. I have purchased a replacement on ebay, which will be at the garage in a few days.

I guess it would be best to bite the bullet and get the clutch replaced at the same time. I'd prefer to get one from ebay to save £££££££££, but there seem to be plenty to choose from, so can someone point me in the right direction for a decent (and hopefully cheap) clutch kit please?

Best local price is £90 so less than that would be great.

As said mate ebay is your best bet. A quick search turned up a genuine Citroen 1.8 clutch kit for £50. At that price I wouldn't bother with pattern parts. Google AEP Direct as well.

AEP clutch is £130++

Would you be able to reply here with the item number of the kit you spotted on ebay please?

Here's a possible bargain for you:

I trust Motaquip stuff, as it's made by Peugeot. In fact my local Peugeot dealer sells them as "Genuine Peugeot Motaquip" parts. Check this page for cross reference and application:

Evilally, that's a handy link! Only drawback is the estimated dispatch time, but I have emailed the seller to see if they will consider using a different dispatch method.

Here's hoping.

Thanks again,

Evilally, got that clutch you posted the link for - sender even sent it next day delivery for the same price!

All fixed now and back on the road ready for the winter :lol:
