I am just wondering if I need to rescue it, revive it and take care of it.
I know very little about running more modern cars where the "computa" may well say no, flash some lights up, and head you off in the direction of the nearest specialist, or even worse main stealer to carry out the simplest of repair or maintenance tasks.
Dont think there is even a Haynes to help
Whats the reality? Just a few ignorant questions to get the ball rolling.
When the milage reaches the programmed in service interval does the spanner light come on, and not go out again until the computa is updated?
What about if you change the alternator, do brake discs and pads, change the oil and filter, the fuel filter, replace the coolant, change a thermostat, fit a new radiator, depressurise the suspension, replace suspension/brake pipes, replace spheres, do a timing belt, replace the exhaust , renew the clutch etc - Is there always an update the computer stage?
Any info would be appreciated particularly in relation to the 2.0HDi as I decide whether to move into the "modern car" era, or stick to what I know best.
