Hi all

Just thought i would post some piccy's of my daily hack !!

Just having sold my XM TCT, in the search for a deisel one, and come across this at the last minute, stuck a bid on and won !!!!

Full Citroen s/h up to 94k ( cambelt changed) now showing 99k,
MOT'd till next July, And Taxed,

Bargin !

Lot of car for £300, it's got a few area's of rust, but nothing major.

Very lucky indeed and they go well in either 1.9na or 1.7td form.

I still wish a nice Red TGD on a J plate would come up for sale as my dad had one years ago and it seemed better to ride in than the Xant's have ever done

Some people have got 1.9td's or 2.1tds in there as well

1.9td conversions are super simple and theres NOTHING to it... its essentailly a 1.7 block and head but bigger bores, so I cant see what the problem is fitting a 1.9 td in...

Athena spec is nice, gti type with the 3 spoke GTi wheel which I had on my TZD Turbo..

Looks good Nigel, whats the rear arms like??

Have the car running, and then stand a few meters behind the car and look at the rear wheels, they should be DEAD vertical! Any lean in at the top idicates rear arm bearing failiure or wear... an ok job to do if your tool handy..

And they ARE ARE a damm site more reliable than "Normal" mechanics say they are too! Because they are a little bit different and they dont understand them they write them off....!

Gimmie one ANY DAY than a Vauxhall or Fraud....

That looks like a very nice car but unless I'm mistaken the N/S/R wheel looks to be at an angle, look at the car from behind the wheel should be vertical if its not then the rear arm bearings are overdue replacement.

Yep your all right !!

Had the car yesterday looked over by Citronut ( malcolm ) , and yes conformation of new rear arm bearings, two new shperes and possible front ball joints, so gunna get the parts on order, and as he only works a couple of hundred yards up the road from where i work , and he has the workshop ,il'l get him to do all the work.

Really smashing guy, very helpful, and rightly so knows all about them,

Thanks for reminding me Paul

Dizzz a sad day today, as i'm going to deliver the car, so it's my last drive in it !!!

But once Malcolm's done a little work on the Bx and got her up to scratch, and i'm not rear end bouncing my way around, il'l feel better..

But the search is on for the TCT replacement, i'm in no hurry ..

Yes the exhaust is hanging a bit low , due to the bracket it supported by is shot by rust !

Thats about it for now, it off to Malcolm's tomorrow for the once over ..
