Correct oil filter for Xantia 90Hdi?

I bought a job lot of genuine Citroen oil filters ref. 1109.S8, thinking they were good for my 2000 90Hdi Xantia.

But before removing the old one I can see it is both shorter and of smaller diameter. Of course I also can't check up on the sealing ring diameter. Space-wise, things look ok.

So I suspect I'm not going to able to use them.

Can anyone help with identity of the filters / whether ok for my car?

I seem to remember that they changed at some point from a larger / better filter to a smaller one. if your filetrs fit, they're probably OK, but it would be wise to try and compare the specs with regard to overpressure bypass and such things.

1109.S8 is a V6 oil filter. It'll probably fit an HDi, but might be a bit under spec in filtration terms for the 12.5k change intervals - if you're changing it more often, then probably no problems. I can't be sure the thread is the same though....
