Another wonderful journey -- Xantia 90Hdi

Just got back this evening from trip to Corsica. Since I live in Dordogne this is not quite so far as you might think -- 1300miles or so return via Nice and the ferry. (BTW ferry is fantastic, not like the crates that go to/from UK from France).

Four adults + full boot of luggage.

Over 50mpg, never the slightest missed beat or strange noise.

The only slight hassle was at a service station when I opened the door in high wind and it was blown open hard. Now when you shut the door it catches the fitting in the door, which lifts it into alignment.

But what a car! Over 10 years old and still a thrill to drive.

A big Citroen really does make a long trip all the more enjoyable.

I once travelled from the UK Midlands to Honfleur in Normandy in my old Xantia 1.9 TurboD. It was a real pleasure and didn't miss a beat.

In the cue for the ferry back to uk I entertained the other travellers by doing some citaerobics.

Proper long distance touring comfort cars are the Xantias .

Wish I had space to store and restore The Donk model (1.9td estate)..........they are disappearing fast
