Xantia Hydraulic Pipes

Post by DHallworth »

Hi Guys,

I've got a couple of hydraulic pipes that need replacing on a Xantia HDi Hatchback.

They are the ones that go into the T pieces around the back subframe that go into the height correctors and stuff.

Is it easier to drop the subframe to do this? If so, what sort of a job is it to drop?

From looking at it I can only see 4 bolts that hold it to the car but am unsure of exactly what needs to be moved out of the way or how low I can drop it before things will break of bend.

Thanks

David.

Sooooo simple D

You only need to remove the TWO bolts on the PASSENGER side, as this is the side the pipes go up and over... Theres no need to even remove the back box!

You may want to remove the spare wheel well to get at the top of the subframe at the centre, but seriously theres not much else needed to...

Support the rear of the car with blocks, on the floor pan, use a wide spread to spread the load, remove the rear wheels for ease both sides, support the frome with a jack, remove the two bolts and lower the jack, and the frame will come down on the one side!!!
