How do you reprogramme the flip keys ??????

S1 Xantia's have an Infra-Red (IR) 'plipper' that's fairly short range, line-of-sight and directional. The receiver dome (poking out of the head-lining above the rear-view mirror) must be able to 'see' the LED in the end of the plipper.

There's a PDF file downloadable from my Xantia Webpage that explains how to repair and synchronise plippers.

Rather than me create a new thread & thought I'd tag a query of my own onto this one regarding xantia 'plip's' . My own car has central locking but it came with only one aftermarket key, I've had a 2nd key made for obvious reasons only it would be nice to have a 'plip' too but i don't recall which type my car needs as there were two versions, 1 with one button & 1 with two buttons (which is by far the most common), does any one have an idea as to which type i would need for my car (1996 1.9td lx, as seen in av pic). A few other basics, my cars keys are not coded, the alarm is disconnected as it gave me too much grief just after i bought it, the car does not have it's original lock set although this wont make any difference & right now I'm not too bothered about the 'plip' not having an actual blade key although i might look into sourcing one later in the year if i can get a 'plip' to work, cheers folks :)
