Welcome to the site!
By 'normal suspension' do you mean those weird coiled things? I really don't know how they work they don't even have any green bits!

Hi

Hi, thanks for all the courteous welcomes, I bought the car last week and it had a rather bumpy ride, so it went in to westroen for some new spheres and now rides like new, so I am quite impressed by the smooth ride, just a couple of probs that need attention, firstly the radiator has a leak and i think the brake pads need replacing, so all looking good, :D

What model of Xantia do you have? Engine, age etc?

Good job with the spheres, very few cars get close to a well riding Citroen.

No doubt with hard shperes i bet the LHM has been in there for quite a while. A good flush with hydraflush and new LHM will improve things more. There is more to be done to restore ride comfort than just the spheres, there are many threads on here about other factors - ride height, fluid, height correctors etc.

Have fun with it :)

Hi, my Xantia is a 1.9 sd lx, 1996 model, with 140,000 miles on it, the car is going back to westroen to get the hydraulic system cleaned and the fluid changed, just didnt have enough cash at the time to get in all done together, am hoping doing that will resolve the slight brake fade that i can feel on the pedal, it also needs a new alternator belt, and has a squeaky tensioner somewhere, so everything is in progress, and ofcourse a filter change which is important as it is going to Ipswich very soon, how easy is it to do the timing belt or is it best left to a professional ??? :D
