Your Dream renault

Unread post by renault5 »

I have a mk1 Renault 5 but my dream car would be a some might say tacky pearl white with full racing body kit.

Something with a ridiculously large rear roof spoiler, extra, extra, extra wide arches and wheels and an interior that should never be abused.

Of course I'd still have a stock 1.1l engine:)

My motto is if you go fast no-one will see how much polishing you've been doing.

Whats your dream Renault?

I like my Renaults, lots to choose from :) The Clio 200 Cup is the best car I've ever driven, an absolute hoot. A Mk2 Clio V6 is also on my "to own" list. A Clio Williams would be nice if you could get one that wasn't falling to bits.

I do like some Renaults a lot, however i mainly prefer large cars so my ideal Renault would be an Avantime, failing that a Velsatis.

Renault has made lots of great small cars though, its a real shame we didnt get the first Twingo, especially as they are now trying to sell us awful plastic tat (the new Twingo).

A RenaultSport Clio would be high on my hot hatch list, either a 200 cup or a 197.

I've driven a few 197's on and off the track and they're great. However I got a shot of a 200 at Cadwell park last year and I couldn't believe how much of an improvement it was, you get a lot more than just another 3bhp. It's handling is leagues ahead of any other hatch right now, as is the RS Megane (the new Megane 250 was quicker round the track than the 350bhp RS 500 Focus on a recent 5th Gear). The oversteer is a hoot, and very easily controlled (my 182 is very snappy by comparison). If I were to buy a new car now, it would probably be the one.

Interesting choices

Citroenmad, I may be all turned around on the subject when you mentioned a RenaultSport Clio I imagined myself driving a white Clio round some of the many roundabouts we have here. Incidentally my bad driving habit is cutting on roundabout, of course only when no one else is on them (I use the gravity of the roundabout to slingshot me  )

messerschmitt owner, 4cv, reaaaaaaaally, Espace Mk1 - not sure I'm getting that.

Now the 110 Alpine, I could really see me Montecarloing it up in that car, possibly in a nice retro yellow.

evilally, traack daayyyyy (homer drool)

A nice early R4 would be high on my list. I really miss the one we used to have, very good fun.

hmmmmmmmmm tuuuuuurbo

I did see an Alfa Romeo Mito the other day, actually I parked next to it, it was a sort of creamy colour but I did like the styling

(whispers to-self) Of course I would never leave you Renault (winks to Mito as I drive off)

I should really get out more, or probably stay in

A nice Gordini in black with teh gold outlines :)
An alpine but they are very pricey to maintain.
Or a nice R5GTT Raider with the R19 16v PH1 alloys :)
