If you're wondering what the engine bay looks like, here's a vid of a 2.2Hdi in a 205!

I've never heard of a 205 multi.

1.9TD SX Xantia Hatchback (Jenny) running on 100% veg for sale

Dispels the myth they're a bit sluggish quite nicely

That one must be running an EPIC pump...

205 Multi, no, a new one on me...

Hilarious  Although to be fair, the 2.1 will be in a decent state of tune to be able to do that. 222bhp from a Civic is hardly a tune at all, in fact the Japanese ones are 220bhp from the factory (built in the UK.....but if you want one you have to import it back from Japan ).

LOL Jim,

I meant - do they ever stop thinking what engines to put in them next!!!

I always thought 205 brakes were very good, I know mums GRD 87 205 was.... however, the 306 TD that came later was hopeless, but always passed the MOT brake test...

I think the V6 is too heavy for the 205, although I'm going here from what I read when the Corsa boys (sic) tried putting a few V6's into them. The 16v 2.0 was actually just as lively and handled better.

Good vid's though :)

What do you expect, a GM V6... in a corsa...

My guess is the PSA V6 24 may be lighter then the GM lump, then the 205 is a far far far far superior car then the corsa..

However, I cannot see any point of anything more powerfull then the factory 1.9 lump, even this was rated as being a "Handfull"

Oh I know ;) :)

I think I just wanted to say having a V6 in a 205 would not actually be as good as having a good 4-pot engine in it. Apart from the 6 pot noise, there would be no real benefit I think :)

Even in a 306 it's reckoned a V6 makes it a bit nose-heavy and upsets the fine balance of the car..

For my money, the 1.6 GTi is the best of the petrol 205s. The 1.9 was a bit much for it and the character of the 1.9 really did not sit well with the rest of the car. The buzzy little 1.6 was spot-on...

My experience of GTi brakes were that they were rubbish. Ditto diesel ones too but then I'm being unfair in comparing them to Xantia brakes which, after all, are marvellous and make everything else look rubbish...

1.9 205 left me standing last night (after overtaking on the inside on a roundabout.
Disappeared into the distance leaving a very impressive smokescreen behind.
