xantia clock bulb replacement

Unread post by imperial21 »

Hi all
As the nights are drawing in i have noticed i have a couple of bulbs out the first is the clock,i looked in the haynes manual how to gain access and it seemed very long winded is there a simple way to do it ?
also can i replace the back light bulbs for the dash clocks as the temp gauge one does nt work ?

Thanks

see the post below this one :D

or.. find the two hidden torx (upper front edge of console), and IIRC thats all you need to do, out she comes and the bulb holders will all be visible.. there may be a torx or two in the lower edge..

the clock is held into the longer trim strip above the column, this is held with two or 3 torx and you may need to get the stereo surround off first (2 more torx i think)

lower steering wheel will help..

in a rush!

UNFORTUNALLY, being a Series 2 car, its a bloody stupid idea to combine the clock in with the trim, thats now turned one piece!!

So, no theres no quick easy way, its steering cowls off (Wheel can stay on!!) plastic trim to the right, on the dash, off, so you can get at the 3 fixing screws, then its radio out, to get at the remainder 3 or 4 screws that hold that end in, then the whole trim - plastic trim pulls forward, but can be tight with the connectors to the switchs

I guess thats one up for the S1 car, thats only "Pop the clock out" and change the bulb!!
