Torque for starter motor bolts

Unread post by the_weaver »

Can anybody tell me what the correct torque wrench setting is for the three bolts holding the starter motor on, on a ZX 1.9D (XUD)? It's not in the Haymes manual for some reason. The bolts are M10 x 1.5mm threads.

John

That's useful info. The bolts on the ZX are Allen head grade 8.8
Any idea what type of bolts are used on the BX?

I would assume they are the same, my 205 has the same hex headed bolts.

From memory very early XUD's (as in pre 87) had 17 (or 15) mm headed bolts...

The bolts on the ZX are Torx headed, not Allen head as I first thought.

There's one bolt that's longer than the other two. service.citroen shows it as being at the bottom, however I kept the bolts threaded into the starter, when I took it off, and I've got the bolts in different positions. I suppose I could have got them mixed up. I'll assume the Citroen drawing is correct.
